“We are disappointed with the Parliamentary Commission for Economic Development's decision to increase the age of cars imported up to 15 years, despite the concerns we raised on the MSA Committee last week. This movement would directly influence air pollution in Kosovo and opposes European Union goals”, the EU Office's response said. Shortly after the publication of the EU Office's stance in Pristina, German Ambassador to Kosovo Christian Heldt has reacted. He has joined this office's opposition to the bill that enables the importation of old cars up to 15 years. Citing the EU's Twitter response, Heldt has said that Kosovo would improve with modern cars, even advised it to switch to hybrid and electric cars.
“I join disappointment. Kosovo would be better off with modern cars, even targeting hybrid or electric cars”, Heldt wrote.
