The Greek island of Zakinto has moved for at least three inches southwest after the violent 6.4-degree earthquake Friday morning.
This is listed on the basis of digital analysis and radar footage by the EU and the EU satellite ESA Sentinel-1 Copernicus Service, Athens National Observatory Institute Research Director Athanassios Ghana reports today to Greek news agency ANA.
The movement is mostly seen at the horizontal level, while the vertical movement has not been observed, the Kosovo Press broadcasts.
Ghana said scientists are currently investigating whether the earthquake caused shifts in surrounding areas.
The Greek institute announced on Friday that Friday's earthquake hit the area about 50 km south of Zakinto, and was followed by a series of smaller earthquakes.
The quake was felt in other parts of Greece, even in Italy, Malta, Albania and Libya.
The Epicentra is registered in the Ionian Sea, about 130km southwest of Patras in Peloponnese, about 14km under the sea bed, according to the US Geological Ent.
