The Tirana court today has convicted DP municipal adviser Akil Kraja on the charge of slandering Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj.
The verdict was made this morning and according to the court's verdict, The DP is forced to pay a $1m moral compensation to Tirana Mayor. Veliaj was on trial.
Following news of the DP's slander sentence, sources from Tirana City Hall suggest Mayor Veliaj has decided that with the $1m write-off to buy two computers who will donate to school students “Isa Bolatini” in Frame-Camez.
This is the first case that a libel court ruling goes directly to “Education Fund”, which is designed to support nests, gardens, school libraries, good students of every community, books, computers or teaching materials, by any decision the courts will give against public slander.
