Two police officers died after several unidentified armed men opened fire on them when they noticed the authors trying to steal a car in the Bosnian capital Friday morning, Sarajevo police said.
The police officers have not even stepped out of their car, they didn't open fire first, but unknown authors began firing right after they saw the Police”, Adem Zolj said at a first Sarajevo press conference.
The dead officials are Addis Sehovic, 46, and Davor Vujinovic, 43.
Investigators were at the scene while Sarajevo police were co-operating with police forces in Serb-dominated eastern Sarajevo to search for authors, a police spokesman said at the press conference.
According to local media, members of Bosnia's State Investigation and Protection Agency are also involved in the operation.
The OSCE mission in Bosnia has condemned the attack, the regional television station N1 reported.
The police's latest fate in Sarajevo occurred in 2012. The killer's motive was revenge, as the officer lifted his license and gave him a 50-euro fine several days before the murder. The killer was imprisoned for 34 years. / BIRN
