The far-right coalition has been campaigning for weeks so Vienna can boycott the deal.
Austria's government has presented concerns about national sovereignty as a reason.
There are some points we look at critically and we fear the risk of our national sovereignty” The conservative Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said Wednesday.
He took office last December in the coalition with the nationalist party “Freedom” supporting policies against immigration.
Austria currently holds the European Union presidency, and Kurz has made control of irregular migration a priority.
The Global Agreement on Security and Migration of the Rule, which is not legally binding, was finalised by the United Nations in July.
Last December, the United States withdrew from negotiations, while Hungary in July.
