These investments, which are being supported through investment grants at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development and the European Commission, have also influenced that even the vegetable processing company “Abi&Elif 19” in Prizren to install modern tomato processing technology, thus expanding the production and processing line. In the inauguration of the tomato processing line at “Abi&Elif 19”, investments which have been supported by the MBPHR and the EU have taken part, Mevludin Krasniqi, EU office representative in Pristina Daniela Topiceanu, as well as representatives of Prizren's municipality.
In this case, Deputy Minister Krasniqi stressed that with support of agricultural projects through UKPZR grants, local agribusinesses are managing to advance production and processing technology in their companies, especially those in the vegetable sector, which according to him is calculated as one of the most potential sectors in the country.
<x) Already thanks to this investment, we will have more local new products on our market, with a tendency to penetrate even foreign markets”, Deputy Minister Krasniqi has said. He has shown that from today this investment will enable 20 more people to be employed.
The deputy minister has pledged that ministry support for farmers, producers and processors in the agriculture sector will continue in the future, with the aim of establishing local product quality.
Otherwise, the MBPZHR has supported the construction of the vegetable processing plant “Abi&Elif 19”, through investment grant of 187 thousand euros.
