Proposal treatment against Alzheimer's disease fails

American researchers have announced the failure of a molecule to improve people's cognitive capabilities with Alzheimer's disease.

One molecule found was shown to be promising for Alzheimer's disease, but it has not shown the efficiency expected after a series of clinical research.

Research results are published in the American Medical Association newspaper (JAMA).

Previous studies have suggested that Idalopirdine ) should delay the loss of colinegic neurons in the brain caused by Alzheimer's disease.

The purpose of this new treatment was to minimize symptoms, even though it is not possible to stop developing this neurological degradation.

These results show that Idalopirdine should not be used to treat Alzheimer's disease,” authors write, including Alireza Atri from the California Medical Center in San Francisco.

According to the World Health Organization, more than 36 million people worldwide are affected by malaria, including most Alzheimer's disease.

This number is expected to double by 2030 and triple by 2050 to 115.4 million if effective treatment is not detected in the coming years.
