In a proposal for Online Economics, Hoxha has said that however unfair this court is in Kosovo's case, the state should be serious and respect the internationally taken obligations.

Hoxha's stance is in line with that of the party's chief, Kadri Veselin, expressed several days ago in a long writing on the media, but not with her boss at the government, Ramush Haradinaj.

“Mayor The PDK, Wessel, at the same time chairman of the Assembly, has been very clear in his statement about the situation that took place. And I share the same opinion; I'm obviously a member of the Democratic Party of Kosovo's headship. I think that as unfair as this Special Court is in the case of Kosovo, we must continue to fulfil our international obligations and be a serious state”, Hoxha said.

The chairman Vessel has stressed the importance of maintaining good reports with the international community”.

But what is more important, we should show seriousness as a state when we take over international obligations, to respect them”, Minister Hoxha stressed.

The Special Court for War Crimes in Kosovo is expected to investigate the crimes of members of the former Kosovo Liberation Army, allegedly committed against members of minority communities and political opponents from 1998 until the end of 2000”. The investigation came as the starting point of Swiss Senator Dick Marty's report, prepared for the European Council.

At the end of last year, 43 Kosovo Assembly deputies launched an initiative to abolish the Court. The initiative was not presented in the Assembly for lack of quorum, but has been warned it will be brought back to the session.

The initiative has not even been rejected by leaders of central institutions. Some media have even speculated that the initiative may be promoted by President Hashim Thaci, whose name is cited as a potential indictment.

Even Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has stated several times that the Special Court is unfair to Kosovo and that the “government will respect the decision if 61 MPs vote for the abolition of Special Court”.

Finally, Parliament Speaker Kadri Veselini has stressed that Kosovo has deserved at least the Special Court to happen. But it will happen, although there are hundreds of arguments that speak against it”.

Wessel's writing came after harsh reactions by the Quint Embassy in Kosovo, which demanded that Kosovo give up any attempt to abolish or renegotiate any part of the Law for the Special Court.

The specialised “Chambers, in particular, are an important part of Kosovo's commitment to rule of law and Kosovo's commitment to addressing the crimes committed on its territory”, said in the joint statement of the US, Germany, United Kingdom, France and Italy.
