Hoxhaj: Kosovo uses this time to apply to Council of Europe

Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Enver Hoxhaj has suggested that the month of February is the most appropriate time for Kosovo's application to the Council of Europe.

He made these comments during the day when he reported to the Commission for Foreign Affairs, Diaspores and Strategic Investments.

But that was rejected by the chairman of this commission, Vjosa Osmani, who said the initiative to abolish the Special Court could undermine Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe.

Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Enver Hoxhaj has declared that because of the Council of Europe's support for Kosovo membership in this council, it is the ideal time to hand over the application requirement.

It is the last time that in January-February we will have a co-ordination between the presidency, above all of the framework, since the Assembly has a detensive role in Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe and the government. I'm thinking a working group should be drafted which consists of the presidency, from the assembly, not only to submit the application but to take responsibility for full membership to the end. . Time, time, and conditions have never been more ideal than applied, we are ready as governments if the Parliament gives this topic direction to make any short-term plans within the next two three weeks “, he said.

While Russia's suspension by the Council of Europe parliamentary assembly, Hoxhaj has seen it as a moment that must be used by Kosovo to apply to this Council.

Meanwhile, the head of the Commission for Foreign Affairs, Diaspoas, and Strategic Investment, Vjosa Osmani, has suggested that without completing the issue of the Special Court's abolition, Kosovo will not submit its application letter to the Council of Europe.

Osmani: We suggest that without the special court epilogue, no letters for application be delivered.

“I suggest that without taking the epilogue the initiative of 40 deputies for the Special Court not to send out the application letter, if this issue is expected to get epilogue within the month then it would be a much more favourable situation for the Republic of Kosovo that, in the moment that it is clarified the application letter is sent and we do so absolutely not by making any political distinctions... but knowing the attitudes of some key member states have generally associated with any process of application in the international organisation, and if that success is constantly suggested that such a success is initiated can have an adverse impact on the advice of Europe, we suggest that the matter is serious enough to deal with the matter, of indeed, the matter, the <x]

While, regarding this issue, Hoxhaj has declared that it is a momentum that should be used for application to the Council of Europe despite political developments in the country.

“I don't want to comment on how much the initiative is made, your initiative of MPs is in the government, and as a government we're going to address this topic, but I don't want to lay it on a wider level if the Dick Marty report is a product of the Council of Europe and the Council of Europe is not ready and its member states are not willing to help Kosovo to at least accept the application in the agenda and support a country to become a fuller member of what the Council of Europe might be... I think is appropriate time to apply which key positions of state but I know that every new day is going to say what a moment for the Council of Europe is going to say, and what it is going to say in a moment for me, and what it is going to say, and what it is going on and what it is to say in the other terms of the next?

And MP Aida Drcguti said that Russia's position on this council has influence even when it is not present, and it should not be neglected because there are states that are under Russian influence and are influenced by the vote.

Russia's “Influence, even when not present, is extremely large and should not be overlooked because there are states which are completely in Russia's influence and are affected in the way of voting, and it should also be given that Serbia is extremely active and much closer to the non-recognising countries of Kosovo independence, and we have had extraordinary obstacles in this period even for the implementation of a clause for the resolution on Kosovo”, she said.

It has also called for greater co-ordination between the Government and the Kosovo Assembly, since at this stage according to it it has not been better co-operation.

According to Hoxhaj the first election Kosovo wins after applying to the Council of Europe is membership in the Bologna process
