Haradinaj calls for ZRRE to compensate citizens for the current paid in the north

Republic of Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has hosted representatives of the Energy Regulatory Office (ZRRE), led by Arsim Janova, U.d. at the meeting today. The board's chairman, with whom he has talked about the latest electricity situation in Kosovo.

Haradinaj has demanded from the ZERE, that, in the long term, the manner of compensation of citizens be found for the added tax burden applied for years. This burden was incorrectly applied for covering losses in northern municipalities.

Haradinaj has also called for the identity and classification of technical losses. Experts are estimated that about 12 percent of these losses are caused by deliberate abuses.

The prime minister, as the statement reports, expressed his determination to demand that such abuses be minimized and the change spread to citizens through tax relief.

For their part, representatives of the ERE stressed their commitment to regulating energy activities, as well as fulfilling tasks and obligations in line with the responsibilities set forth with the Law on Energy Regulatory.
