DW: Islam in the Balkans, who is behind them?

The German government has demanded that the number of fighters coming from the Western Balkans who joined jihadist groups should be classified. The German federal government cannot lower a key <x0 threat presented by individuals and groups on the Islamic scene” in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

That was the statement in response to several questions the leftist party in Bundestag had posed.

The government also claims there is a contact between radical Islamic groups in the Balkans. However, the intelligence service does not have sufficient evidence to increase Islamist movements in Bosnia and Herzegovina, reports “DW” Transmission Periscope.

The statement is the confirmation of a report published in the German daily “Berliner Zeitung” in November 2017, in which the intelligence service allegedly increased the focus in the Balkans specifically in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A number of concrete answers to the questions the left party has posed are classified. The German government disagrees with comments about policies allegedly coming from the Arab Gulf to finance the teaching of Wahhabiism, the Islamic line sect promoted by the government of Saudi Arabia in the Balkans.

“Contrary to intelligence service, the federal government has tried to lower the public threat of increasing Islam,” said Sevim Degdelen, foreign policy expert from the leftist party. It claims that increasing the number of Islamists could severely harm Germany. The “for the most part is completely unacceptable that the government continues to conceal the role of Gulf states, especially Saudi Arabia and Turkey,” said Dagdelen./Periscopi/
