An anesthesiologist at the University Clinical Centre in Kosovo receives a 630-euro gross salary for about 40 hours a week. The same if he works as a professor at the UP Medical Faculty, he is paid about 1500 euros with about 6 hours a week.
This is for Chief Agent Dr. Nehat Baftiu is absurd and sacrifice to 48 QKUK anesthesiologists. He says that in developed countries such as the United States and Canada, anesthesiologist's profession is among the paid.
“Mbi 13 years of school to achieve the title of anesthesiologist, with great responsibility for patient life, and with at least 3 operations per day, we are estimated at 630 euros a month. Just as much, or more gets a driver in Government or House. This is offensive to us”, says Baftiu, writes Schneta newspaper.
Anesthesiologist says classifying the salaries of health workers does not advance their income unless the co-efficiency is established. Baftiu considers that if the situation persists, each anesthesiologist who speaks a foreign language or has an opportunity to work in private hospitals will abandon his work by public hospitals.
A working group consisting of the Federation of Health Unions, the Office of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Finance and Health is working on the category and establishment of salaries of health workers.
So has the head of FSSHS, Dr. Buy Syla. He says it's the last time health wages should happen.
This is no longer the case, this is not worth 4 percent, and we ask that we have salaries as we deserve”, Syla has declared.
He has indicated that during today the draft for changing the Law of Salaries will be handed over to Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj.
Our demands are that the classification be done according to the school, the workplace, and as envisioned by European standards. The main requirement is for the doctor's professional salary to be like that of judges or prosecutors. This means the cofficiency is 8”, Syla has declared.
According to the estimate, the cofficiency 1 is equivalent to the minimum wage in Kosovo, which currently stands at 170 euros.
If the doctor's salary cofficiency increased to 8, then their salary would be about 1300 euros.
Kosovo's government has recently increased doctors' salaries by 4 per cent, which has caused reactions and frustration among health workers. Syla has declared that according to the prime minister's promises, their demands will be met in the most distant place after 2 months.
