Chairman of the Vushtrri Community today has waited in his representative office of U. USAID they discussed deeper co-operation with. Tahiri, meanwhile, through US representatives has summoned US Ambassador Greg Delawi to visit the city of Vushtrri.
U Director USAID, Programme for Transparents, Effects and Accounting (TEAM), this programme regarded as the most important that is currently being conducted in Kosovo by USAID with the support of the US Embassy in Pristina, is hosted today by the chairman of Vushtrria, Xhafer Tahiri, and other leaders of the Vushtrria municipality.
Project manager at U AID, Jeton Cana, said that with the new leaders of the Vushtrri municipality awaiting close co-operation in implementing this 5-year project, which is under way in only five Kosovo municipalities, which are expected to be model not only for other municipalities but also for the central government, in the area of transparency and accountability in public money management.
Cana has said that Vushtrria has not been selected by chance among the 5 municipalities, in competition even with large municipalities, since it has achieved good results in transparency, has expressed political will in meeting common goals, and is an important partner USAID
And the director of program T EAM, Stephen Carpenter, said full transparency and accounting in public money management, specifically in procurement, is the main objective of this project.
On the other hand, thanks USAID has pledged close co-operation, but also the dedication of municipal administration in meeting these objectives that are fundamental preconditions for the overall development of Vushtrria.
From this meeting President Tahiri through U RepresentativesAID has extended invitation as US ambassador, but also director of U AID to visit the town of Vushtrri.
The head of the Municipal Assembly, Nasuf Aliu, said it will continue to boost transparency in the work of the Municipal Assembly. While the municipality's deputy chairman, Besim Muzaqi, said this support of USAID is consistent with municipal administration pledges for transparency and accountability to citizens.
