Nauert, who has been working as spokesperson for the US Department since 2017, has expressed concern by the United States of America, saying the US is deeply distressed by Kosovo's recent efforts to abolish Special Court Special Chambers, the court founded to hear allegations of crimes against humanity, war crimes and other serious crimes committed during 1998-2000.

“We call on political leaders in the Republic of Kosovo to keep their pledge to the work of Specialised Chambers and to leave the tribunal's authority and jurisdiction unchanged.
As Secretary Rex Tillerson said on December 21st, in the Balkans there is no end to the demand for justice, and we remain committed to upholding justice for the victims. We applauded the moral courage of Kosovo political leaders when they passed the law and amended it in the Constitution in 2015, when the court was established. Now we strongly call on the current leaders and deputies of the Republic of Kosovo's Parliament not to disrupt this achievement by abolishing the tribunal, now or in the future”, said in the statement on behalf of spokeswoman Heather Nauert.
The latter was a former co-owner of “Fox & Friends” and “Fox & Friends First”, and was previously a correspondent for ABC News.
Nauert has completed the journalism faculty at Columbia University.
