O RCA today has received news of the prime minister's request to the Ministry of Science and Technology concerning the dismissal of the Kosovo Agency for Accreditation (AKA) and the State Council of Quality ( KSC.
ORCA expresses its satisfaction with the central level interest in issues related to higher education, but is concerned with insufficient reasons for Prime Minister Haradinaj's request, addressed to Minister Bytyqi for downloads in question.
The central reasons for this letter of Prime Minister Haradinaj consists in the performance of the accreditation process, in which this process “has been developed so far with major irregularities” and that the process has become “frequent objectives of public discussion”.
ORCA stresses that major irregularities have been developed by higher education carriers, mainly private ones who have risked and continue to jeopardise the quality of higher education. The latest decisions of the AKA and KSC have been against these irregularities and in favour of establishing the quality of higher education in the country by suspending hundreds of software certificates that have failed to meet the minimum criteria of their three drivers and by attracting some software certificates as a result of fraud from various higher education carriers.
The performance of the process should not be seen as something negative that characterizes the work of the AKA and KSC, but rather as a necessity in our desperate society for institutional transparency”, the ORCA response is highlighted.
O The RCA expects from the prime minister's office that, just as it has pledged to be transparent and clear to the public, for institutional and civil society officials the detailed reasons for such a demand.
In whatever case O The RCA vows to verify all members of the future AKA and KSC board who hold academic degrees in Kosovo's higher education carriers.
