Russia's President Vladimir Putin has warned that threats of military action against North Korea could cause global disaster.
The Russian leader has stressed that imposing harsher sanctions on North Korea because of its nuclear weapons programme would be counterproductive.
Putin, speaking after the BIC summit in China, has criticised American diplomacy over the crisis on the Korean peninsula and has again called for talks, saying Peniani will not stop his missile testing programme until he feels secure, the Express broadcasts.
Russia condemns North Korean training. We consider them to be provocation. But increasing military hysteria does not lead to good. In fact, it could lead to a global catastrophe”, Putin said.
Putin has insisted on peaceful talks.
“There is no way but the peaceful” path, he added.
