The fact is clear that Turkey should not become an EU member”.
Merkel was convincing in her statements making a better impression for voters in the television debate than Schulz, according to a ZDF television study.
Survey conducted by “Forschungsgrouppe Huhlen” during the first half of the debate and published shortly after it was finished, indicated that Merkel was considered the most reliable of 33 per cent compared to 17 per cent for Schulz.
It comes just weeks after German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel told Turkey that he will never become an EU member as long as he is governed by current President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
It is clear that in this state, Turkey will never become an EU member”, Gabriel said.
