German Chancellor Angela Merkel was very critical of American President Donald Trump's speech, where he had threatened the full “destruction of North Korea” at the United Nations General Assembly gathering.
“I am against threats of this kind and I must say that we consider any kind of military solution absolutely inappropriate and we are counting on resolving this issue through diplomatic efforts”, Merkel said in an interview for “Deutsche Welle”, the Periscopi broadcast.
She explained the German stance on the American president in a call before her speech at the UN. Merkel also confirmed her readiness to help resolve the conflict.
“Even if this conflict is far from Germany, it affects us too”, she said.
The German Chancellor also cited co-operation as mediator in the case of Iran's nuclear weapons restrictions, where this agreement has resulted in success.
She also spoke of the German election campaign, now in its last days in which it is leading according to polls against Social Democratic Party candidate Martin Schulz (SPD).

The German leader also spoke of continuing diplomatic conflict with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who has repeatedly accused the German Chancellor of using Nazi <x0mmetods”.
Merkel is particularly concerned about the effects that may emerge from the conflicts that arise in Turkey.
What worries us is the fact that different groups from Turkey are spying or observing each other here peacefully”, she said./Periscopi/
