The prime minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, has accepted telegram congratulations from European Council Chairman Donald Tusk and European Commission Chairman Jean-Claude Juncker.
Their greeting is:
Your Honour.
We want to express our congratulations on your appointment as Kosovo Prime Minister and the formation of the government.
In March 2017, the Council of Europe reaffirmed clear support for the European perspective of Western Balkan countries, provided the country is interested meets all conditions, maintains good reports with its neighbours and resolves differences by means of peaceful means. In this context, further normalisation of reports with Serbia through the EU-brokered Dialogue and full implementation of agreements reached so far remains a condition for Kosovo to advance on its path to EU integration.
Hopefully, your government receives the opportunity for visa-free travel to your citizens in the European Union by meeting the remaining two demands of border demarcation with Montenegro and solid historicality in the fight against corruption and organised crime. The EU is ready to continue its support for Kosovo in the European Reforms Agency, including in the areas of rule of law, economy, education and public administration. The existing legal and political framework, such as the Stabilisation and Association Agreement, provide a solid basis for our co-operation.
We want a successful term as Prime Minister.
