Hardship in Presevo Valley

Gjilan municipality Chairman Lutfi Haziri has been hosting a working meeting and co-ordinating the deputy chairman, Skender Memish, from the Humanitarian Fund for Presevo, Bujanoc and Medvedja, with which they are co-ordinating for future activities in support of projects that are in the interest of a better life for Albanians and in these municipalities.

Mayor Haziri said the situation in which the Eastern Kosovo Albanians are in is serious enough, and within the framework of commitments we will co-operate with this humanitarian foundation, in the service of a better life for Albanians there. The economic and social situation is too heavy for Albanians in Presevo, Bujanoc and Medvedja.

It is to welcome the already witnessed activity of this humanitarian foundation and the entire Albanian exile, who were always committed to supporting their co-ordinators”, Chairman Lutfi Haziri has said.

He has called for co-operation to be even greater, “supporting local institutions from these three municipalities should be even more intense, and at the same time Gjilan's support will be on this level through various forms, whether by businesses or other donors”, Hasziri has said among other things.

Skender Memish, deputy head of the humanitarian fund, has announced that this fund has so far built 57 new homes for families with serious economic and social conditions. We have built 57 new houses so far.

The goals of the humanitarian fund, through the “initiative, build, save, Paradalo”, aim to build 100 new houses in Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanoc. If it doesn't take place quickly, then we'll have abandoned homes because of the severe state and lack of perspective”, he said, among other things.

According to a municipality of the Gjilan municipality, he has also informed Chairman Haziri of financial resources, of the ongoing support that has come from Albanian exiles and good will people everywhere.
