Are children getting sick from plastic toys?

A child's toys may pose a serious health hazard to them because of the increase in infectious diseases, experts have warned. Certain viruses, such as the flu, can survive on the surface of toys for enough time to pose an issue in case of exposure, cautions a new research.
Experts have tested how long a virus can survive in a plastic child toy that is flexible (soft), for example, a frog.
The discoveries are related to viruses that have an outer protective layer that can help them survive and infect other cells.
Examples included flu, which is one of the most common respiratory diseases. Researchers said that toys are likely an important channel for the transmission of viral diseases to children.
This is a new research that aims to analyze how long a particular virus needs to be removed from the surface of children's toys in typical environmental temperatures and at relative levels of humidity.
Researchers used a similar virus that infects bacteria to mold human survival patterns. They put the virus at a game and controlled environmental moisture at 22 degrees Celsius, at 40 percent, or 60 percent moisture.
During a 24-hour period, one percent of the virus still remained infectious in relatively 60 percent humidity, showing a 99 percent reduction in the number of infectious viruses.
The virus was less stable in the humidity of 40 percent, the most common in the interior. In the first two hours, only 0.01 percent of the virus continued to be present, showing a drop in 99.9 percent of the number of infectious viruses.
The researchers were able to recover about 10,000 percent of the infectious virus within 10 hours.
However, if a virus is able to stay, there is a danger that children will get sick. Relative neglect at home may depend on one's place of life, so it is important to take measures to prevent disease from spreading.
The main focus for parents, doctors and garden caretakers should be sterilizing their children's joint toys and developing a strategy that will help ensure that disease is permanently removed from each toy.
For example, toys that are common among people should be frequently decontaminated. Ordinary cleaning is one of the best solutions.
Experts also recommend eliminating children's toys in the environments where they wait in the pediatrics. A decontain plan should also be included for door handles, elevator buttons, and other areas often affected by many. /Telegraphy/
