This has been the conclusion of the international conference on hospital infections and anti-micobic resistance, organised by the Italian Embassy in Kosovo in co-operation with the Ministry of Health.
University professor Lul Raka said that 10 tons of antibiotics are being used in the world every 10 minutes, but that in 50 percent of cases this use is unnecessary.
He took an example of a research by the World Health Organization that if you continue with this trend on antibiotics use, there will be more deaths than cancer.
If the world is walking today with the abuse trend of antibiotics at all levels, then a research by the World Health Organization has predicted a black omen that in 2050, if we move on this trend more people will die of resistant germs than cancer. If we continue to misuse antibiotics the way we're misusing them today”, he said.
