September 27th 1990 presented the continuation of violence at the stadiums that began in May that year, when violence erupted in the popular Maksimiri at the Dinamo Zagreb-Crvena Zvezda Belgrade.
The difference was that in “Poljud” there were no guest fans, in this case of Partizan.
This match is calculated as the starting point of war in Yugoslavia, which followed its breakup later.
Ardian Koznik was in the field for Hajduk when Partizan was winning 2-0. As the game was going to the end, local fans were introduced to attack guest footballers.
The flag of the former Yugoslavia was moved to the field as Croatia's flag was deployed. The match was later recorded with a score of 3-0.
