This will be done to protect pilgrims from the sun and heat, Haxhi security forces commander announced.
The umbrellas will cover an area of 5353m, making them the largest in the world.
Commander of the security forces in the mosque, Major Gen. Mohammed Al-Ahmadi, said temperatures are relatively low within the mosque.
This is due to air conditioning, but tents will provide comfort to pilgrims in the courtyards and on the mosque floors.
