Anton Lekaj, a former soldier of The KLA had crossed several times without any trouble Montenegro's border. It had happened on August 17, 2004. But that day, as he approached the Montenegrin capital, Podgorica, the car in which the 24-year-old man from Gjakova, along with his friend, was stopped by police.
Lekaj was arrested by Montenegrin authorities to extradite in record time to Serbia. A year after, a District Court in Belgrade sentenced him to 13 years in prison for war crimes committed against the civilian population, shortly after NATO's intervention in Kosovo. The crimes, Serbian justice claims Anton Lekaj, known as '%Pinchoı, led them under the command of former KLA commander for the Dukagjin Zone Ramush Haradinaj
