A refugee in Germany has named her newborn daughter Angela Merkell Muhammad in honor of German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Syrian refugees Asia Faraj and her husband Khalid Muhammad arrive in Germany with their four children at the summit of the 2015 refugee crisis thanks to Merkel's policy of opening the doors to refugees, the Express broadcasts.
Angela is the couple's fifth child.
It was born August 16th, with a weight of 3,920 grams and a height of 53cm, a spokeswoman for St. Franziskus Hospital in Münster, in western Germany, writes Express.
The girl's first name is Angela, while the second is Merkel. With that decision, parents have wanted to express their thanks to the Chancellor,” said the hospital spokeswoman.
