Unlike many young Serbs, Tomislav views the reality created in Kosovo differently.
In a conversation with Online Economy, Perushiqi acknowledges that among young people in Serbia there are many prejudices and bad news for Kosovo. For that, he blames politics.
Perushici shows that her interest in Albanian and Kosovo was born during the time she worked with Albanians in New York.
Until this time, he knew very little about Albanians. The blame for the situation between young people from Kosovo and Serbia, he places it on politics and politicians.
Perushici calls on young people not to convey news to Serbia, but to come and make an impression on Kosovo itself.
I can tell that the situation has changed slightly. It's also changing on the political level, but we have unpleasant situations, scandals, only because of politics. Politics affects young people a lot, manipulation, propaganda is huge. I wish you wouldn't be watching news in Serbia because we always have bad news. People should come here, without prejudice”, says Perushiqi, in a very good Albanian.
He, even, urges Serbian politicians to accept Kosovo as a state.
I call on politicians to keep making progress. We too want to enter the EU and you have it. But we cannot continue unless we resolve the issue of war and the situation. Now because of young people we must accept Kosovo and Kosovars, as if a neighbouring state. This is reality. But it always has the influence of politicians who interfere in both education and culture, music. This must be changed”, he said.
To show closer to Albanians, Tomislav in Kosovo is often represented by an Albanian name ú Lulzim.
The Albanian name is not Perushqi's only feature. It daily in Kosovo, but also in Serbia carries symbolic elements of Kosovo, but also of Albanians in general.
Short sports pants with the Kosovo Football Federation coating (FFK), bags, wallets and the eagle's icon covering were just some of the elements that characterised the student from Serbia's Subotica.
I feel good when I'm dressed to Kosovo with Eagle... I think it's time things changed, things change. I think this should start with us. The change starts with me. This is just as a thank-you for the good time here”, Perushiq said.
