Automatic blood - measuring devices are often used to evaluate blood pressure at home and clinic. But such devices often make mistakes, leading to descriptions of drugs that patients do not need.
A recent research has shown that blood pressure measurements err most times, but Israeli scientists have now discovered an alternative method of hypertension control.
Researchers at the Jerusalem Faculty of Technology and the Shaare Zedec Medical Center have developed a new method of better measurement of systolic blood pressure based on so - called photoplethysmography.
The device has an electro-son, which is placed on the finger. It emits light on the finger and special detector measures the carrying of light into the blood. Because of the changes in blood circulation, it pulses and pulse disappears when tension rises to the level above systolic pressure.
This effect enables more precise measurements of tension with the least error.
Otherwise, Israel's new technique was introduced in Colorado a few days ago.
