Almost 45% of journalists in Macedonia receive salaries lower than the state average, which reaches 22.808 denars. This is indicated by the new annex of the Independent Union of Journalists and Media Workers, carried out in July and August 2017, using the APUway Monkey Service, Telegram Macedonia.
The union has consulted 127 media employees, where 80% work as a journalist, while others are editors, photographers, cameramen or technicians engaged in media.
When the percentage turns into numbers, it turns out exactly that 57 media employees out of a total of 127 who have completed the Union survey receive less than 22 thousand denars.
Otherwise 45% are below average, another 40% by journalists surveyed, and media employees, or a total of 51% of respondents, have salaries moving between average and 30,000 denarius
If these two estimates are collected, 85% of people in the media business in Macedonia, at their salary, do not exceed the 500-euro limit, pay is either not satisfactory for the expenses of a four-member family, which is 32 thousand denars and only covers the minimum needs of a family.
