“We must see that Germany's Muslim communities are not influenced by President Erdogan. In no case can we tolerate parallel societies or even against societies. We should not underestimate the dangers that Erdogan's state organisations in Germany” show, writes Foreign Affairs Minister Sigmar Gabriel and Justice Minister Heiko Maas, in an article in “Spiegel”
They demanded that Germany protect people who rise up against Erdogan's cultural war and propaganda.
That call came after the Turkish head of state had urged German Turks not to vote for the three major parties in the September 24th legislative elections, among which the SPD and the Christian-Democrat Union, which are Turkey's enemies.
Germany has the largest Turkish diaspora, with about three million people. The number of their mosques or religious communities is run by the Turkish Ministry for Religious Affairs through its organisation, Diib, which sends emaly to Germany.
