By getting less attention from media than the U.S. events, emergency workers try to help millions of people trapped by the worst floods the area has seen in years.
The three countries are affected each year by floods in the Muston season, starting in June and ending in September, but this year the situation is heavier than usual. In India, this densely populated country, millions of people have been affected, more and more serious than those in the United States whose cities are less populated.
In Uttar Pradesh, India's largest population, at least 88 people lost their lives when floods covered nearly half the state of 220 million people.
The number of victims in Nepal has reached over 150, while 90 thousand homes have been destroyed.
In neighboring Bangladesh, at least 134 people have lost their lives, and more than 5.7 million others have been directly affected by floods that have engulfed more than a third of the country.
Experts warn that a second flood wave in South Asia could lead to unprecedented destruction.
Agriculture in the region has been drastically damaged, and in Bangladesh alone, a country dependent on the sector, crops in 10,583 hectares of land have been destroyed.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has flown over flood-hit areas and promised a $78 million relief fund.
