A 12-year-old jazid boy has joined his mother in Canada three years after being kidnapped by so-called Islamic States, the BBC writes.
Emmad Misko Tamo met his family at the airport on Wednesday evening.
A campaign to send the boy to Canada began after a relative of the baby's mother, Nofa Mihlo Rafo published a photo of him on the internet after he was rescued.
Mrs. Mhlo Rafo arrived in Canada this year as refugees with four of her six children. She was separated from her husband and two older boys after their town was occupied by I SIS in 2014.
The family was surrounded by I SIS in their town, Sinyar, north of Iraq, was held for two years. Mrs. Mihlo Rafo managed to escape and go to a refugee camp with four of her children.
She learned in July that one of her sons, Emmad, had been alive and saved by Iraqi forces.
According to CBC, children, Emmad, speaking through an interpreter, told reporters Wednesday: I'm happy, I'm grateful to everyone who helped me join my mom”, show eye.net
