For the second time in a month, the Croatian Supreme Court takes over the file of Ismail Morina, a fan of the Albanian National National, who raised fears with an ethnic flag on Belgrade Stadium, which already on charges of inciting hatred, risks extradition to Serbia.
News is confirmed for “News24” from diplomatic sources, because the Albanian Embassy in Croatia is closely following the issue in question.
Within Friday, sources said, the Supreme Court is expected to manage and the prosecution's opinion on the case and then set a date for the appeal review made by the red and black fan himself.
A few days ago, the first-degree Court in Dubrovnik, after reviewing the file returned to the Supreme Court, decided to approve the Albanian extradition to Belgrade.
The Albanian, known as Ballisti, refuses to go to Serbian prisons, claiming he will be discriminated against because of ethnic affiliation and social status.
Morina is wanted for the act conducted on October 14th 2014, during the Serbia-Albania match, where the establishment of the Droni, has been named by Serbian justice authorities as a criminal act, was sparking hatred between nations and religions.
While it is expected that the Supreme Court will issue a decision on Belgrade's official request, what has been done at Morina's request is not yet known for political asylum.
But despite judicial verdicts, the extradition of either the Albanian or not depends on the Croatian justice minister's firm.
