Kosovo Tax Administration (ATK), today, announced the deadline for pardoning public debts for legal and physical persons in Kosovo accumulated since December 31st 2008.

ATK spokeswoman Valentina Bytyqi has said in the morning show at RTK, she said the debt forgiveness process has been relatively satisfactory, where hundreds of millions of ur have been pardoned, during two specific period of time in the law.

Otherwise, according to official data, by the beginning of this month, more than 350m euros in debt have been forgiven, while there are close to 600 thousand cases that have benefited from the pardon of debts from various state institutions and public enterprises. By contrast, according to statistics that have been given earlier, only in the Kosovo Energy Corporation with the Law on Forgiveness of Debt has been addressed 238,682 potential beneficiaries, where 121,897 consumers have thus far benefited. The amount of debts forgiven is about 40 percent of the entire debt.
