Kosovo citizens seem to have yet understood the motto “festo by heart, not with weapons”. This motto has been launched by Kosovo Police every summer for several years, this season when weddings take place.

But shooting at parties and parties only increases each year, sometimes even taking lives.

This year fortunately, there has been no fatality case of shooting weddings, although such a occasion has been recorded in a Suhareka village.

The bullets of weapons that were fired with joy suffered minor injuries to three women in the house.

Only ten cases of shootings were reported in Kosovo Police, and the number of injured persons during these incidents totals nine.

According to Kosovo Police spokesman Daut Hoxha in the months of June and July of this year, 10 cases have been reported, meaning declining shootings at weddings and parties.

Of these ten recorded cases, nine people have been injured, while 14 people have been arrested in these operations and 58 ammunition and 17 weapons of different types have been confiscated.

The phenomenon of shooting guns at family parties is present almost all areas of Kosovo, but according to Kosovo Police spokesman Daut Hoxha, the most frequent shooting cases have been reported in the region of Pristina.

The reason for gun shooting at moments of joy is explained by sociologist Ferdi Kamber.

He in an electronic response to Kosova Prees said the effect and tradition are seen as factors that push people to fire guns during various family holidays. According to him, family joy can easily turn into a family tragedy.

Unlike Kosovo Police in order to reduce the use of firearms has appealed to all Kosovo citizens that citizens avoid illegal use of firearms because weapons pose potential risks.

Police also agree that all who illegally use weapons or carry them illegally, without authorisation, will honor all legal measures for completing and proceeding these cases to competent justice bodies.
