Researchers have found that sugar affects the development of many diseases, including diabetes, metabolic syndrome, heart disease, and cancer.
In fact, scientists from the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Utah were among the first to discover that tumor development depends on sugar.
Their research was published in the newspaper “Processing of the National Academy of Sciences”. And according to Don Ayer, a professor at the Oncological Sciences Department at Utah University, said: “has become known since 1923 that tumor cells use more glucose than normal cells. Our research helps to see how this process develops, and how it can be prevented from controlling growth of”.
So far various studies have confirmed that people with higher blood glucose levels develop more cancer, and that people with cancer, who also have the highest blood levels of glucose, are at least rescued from cancer.
While all cells need glucose a form of sugar that transforms into energy, cancer cells thrive by feeding on refined sugars, usually found in processed foods and sugars.
The process when glucose breaks to power is called “glycolysis”. In a healthy cell, glucose is converted into “pyruvate”, which passes to energy stations or to the machine to use “Secure” into the presence of oxygen.
Cancer cells also need glucose, which they do themselves. Unlike healthy cells, however, cancer cells generate their energy in the absence of oxygen. This is called “glycosis anaerobus”.
Thus, health experts say that the best way to treat cancer is not to feed cancer cells, leaving “dead” for glucose.
You can do so by not eating foods that contain large amounts of sugar, especially processed foods and sugar drinks. /Gazza Express
