The Prizren court has imposed a month-long detention measure against this suspect.
“Suspects Agim Sahitaj have been assigned detention for a month's duration, which will be calculated from the time of arrest and will last until the 08.09.2017, due to suspicion that he has committed criminal war crimes against the civilian population”, Judge Artan Sejran said.
The Special Prosecutor claims there is suspicion based that during wartime in Kosovo, in April 1999, suspect Agim Sahitaj, informed and armed, has acted together with members of Serb forces where they have killed, wounded, beaten, tortured, looted and expelled from their homes in Albania the Albanian civilian population.
Special Prosecutor Sylla Hoxha during reading the request on the appointment of the detention measure has stated that the suspect in co-ordination has committed crimes against Albanian civilians.
“During 1999 with April two, Agim Sahitaj along with members of Serbian forces have entered a house in the village of Sopi in Suhareka, where it has also injured in the leg of S.E., while killing the A.K. site, then the suspect shot towards A.E., but unfortunately it hasn't shot”, said Sylla Hoxha, reports KALLXO.com.
The prosecutor during his statement also shows how the same day the suspect Agim Sahitaj has tortured, robbed and expelled Albanian civilians from their village.
Also on the critical day of the same co-ordination with other persons has taken part in looting, beating, torturing and that on the same day in the village of Sopi 38 Albanian civilians without uniforms have been killed. Just as evidenced by the subject paperwork is seen as the suspect with fellow rulers has expelled Sopi village villagers from Albania to leave for Albania”, Hoxha added.
