This agreement was made with the assistance of the international community, following the fighting that took place in 2001. Among other things, the Framework Agreement was signed aimed at promoting the peaceful and harmonious development of civic society, while simultaneously respecting the ethnic identity and interests of all Macedonian citizens.
This contract between the two peoples was signed by then Macedonian President Boris Trajkovski, then Prime Minister Lubco Georgievski, LSDM leaders Branko Crvenkovski, PDP's Imer Imer and PDP DPA, Arben Xhaferi.
