The Italian economy tends to revive compared with rivals in the European Union (BE), but in one area remains elusive leaders in making ice creams, where demands are growing and making Italy the largest producer.
Ice cream producers in Italy have produced 595 million gallons [595 million L] of ice cream last year, which represents 19 percent of European general production, the Bloomberg agency writes, referring to official statistics.
According to statistics based on small retail bills, Italians earn 1.4 billion euros within the year. Almost 69,000 people in Italy are employed in this business.
In second place in Europe for ice cream production, Germany is 515 million gallons [515 million L].
