Uninterested citizens are forgiven their debt, not applying even half

The deadline to capitalise on pardoning debts is 1 September, while ATK officials have called on them to apply by the specific date in order to benefit from the law for pardoning debts.

ATK officials have said that from 1 January to now, debts worth 12.5m euros have been forgiven.

Kosovo Energy Corporation has so far been pardoned 101 million debt or 40 per cent of consumers, who have been on the debt apology list.

KEK Information Office Director Skender Bucolli told Kosova Prees that the pardoning of debts has benefited about 117 thousand and 500 consumers. According to him, the pre-price value of forgiveness is 262m euros.

“From the law on pardoning debts, consumers even total debt on the entire territory of Kosovo has mostly affected KEK. KEK in total has had about 117 thousand and 500 consumers, out of them over 34 thousand have benefited which have owed less than 100 euros have directly benefited from the pardon of debts. And a total of 30,000 consumers have benefited that their debt has been over 100 euros, but for payment they have had from 01 to 99 cents, even these consumers have received automatically, it has been the board of directors' decision. Of them are 53 thousand and 894 consumers who are beneficiaries of the programme and who are pre-priced to contract with KEK for pardoning debts in this case with KED, because the competencies have been passed over for forgiveness of debts are to consumer offices that link contracts at KEDS offices. A total of 262m euros have been spent as a total wind before for forgiveness, while by now the amount of 101m euros or 40 per cent has been forgiven. Since the projected value for the record is worth 96 million so far, 14 million consumers have been reached. KEK once again based on the first phase, which consumers have been waiting for all months or the last days, called on for these two months to be directed to the KED offices to link debt-forgiving contracts and benefit from the law that I give them this option”, Bucolli said.

He hopes that all citizens will seize this opportunity, which is a good opportunity for them. Bucolli also hopes he will manage to run all remaining debts.

Even in the Regional waterways “Pristina”, it shows that 10m euros or 55 thousand consumers have been forgiven so far.

The spokesperson for the Arberie Zogiani Waterwork told Kosovo that the total amount for forgiveness of debts in this company is 23m euros.

From the law on pardoning public debts to the Regional Waters of Pristina to consumers for forgiveness is about 23m euros. Of this amount of 23m euros, 10 million have so far been forgiven, where 55 thousand consumers have exploited their right to forgive debts, out of 750,000 who can exploit it. We are not satisfied so far with the influx of customers to our offices. We've been waiting longer. But we hope that in the coming months given that by September 1st is the time when this law is power. We take the opportunity to call on all of our customers to exploit this right as soon as possible and come with their demands to reprogram and apply for absolution of debts”, Zogiani said.

Kosovo Tax Administration officials have said they are implementing the pardon of Public Debts. They have called on debtors to exploit this right to pay off debts.

All physical and legal persons (unless social companies under the management of the Kosovar Privatisation Agency, which owe ATK until December 31st 2008), can benefit from debt forgiveness, if they meet the criteria and undergo pre-accession procedures from ATK for pardoning these debts. To profit from pardoning debts to ATK, the taxpayers must: To pay full basic tax (key) for the period from January 01th 2009 to December 31, 2014, or to negotiate with ATK for payment of debts in installments, for January 01st 2009 through December 31, 2014. Only taxpayers who seize this opportunity and fulfill the required obligation until September 01st 2017 will benefit from the debt's pardon.”, said the ATK officials' response.
