The racing candidate for Democratic Party leader Edward Peace has shown some of the issues discussed with former political force leader Sali Berisha at meetings held in recent days.
Peace said that during these meetings, he has expressed his position on developments with the DP, as well as presented his platform for running the DP.
“these are working meetings. I meet him all the time, I have respect. Yes, I would consult Berisha, but the decisions will be after extensive discussions. I told my vision, I showed my platform, I said run, we're friends, I'm grateful for personal support and co-operation, and I'm going to continue meetings with Berisha beyond this”, said Peace at “News 24”.
Asked about which of the two candidacies Sali Berisha supports for DP leader Lulzim Basha or Edward Selam, he said the former prime minister has guaranteed that he will take a neutral stance.
He told me he'd be neutral. Despite his preference, I will not use this as an excuse, no matter how the race goes. I think I have the advantage, as I want to give the Democrats a European vision and a contemporary model”, said "Peace."
