Rama: Citizen's response to the highest level

Albania's Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting this Tuesday with residents of the Vaqarri area of Tirana, with which he shared his vision of the “platform. Albania, which we need”, under which co-governance with citizen is guaranteed.

This platform, Rama stressed, aims at empowering the citizen figure in the eyes of the administration, and enables every member of the government cabinet, or top state authority, to receive a real time signal about where the ruling link is not functioning.

“Platform enables the registration of each individual as part of the body of co-governance through direct connection to internet”, the prime minister said.

According to him, all of this will serve to break down the lack of trust common people have when facing a dilemma over whether to react to an injustice or lack of service in state offices.

People prefer to bribe, close the case, rather than enter a story where they fear that by raising their voices they will never get what belongs to them. If we analyze the causes, it's because of the way the institution is governed, or how the institution has dealt with the citizens, Rama said.

According to him, this process will be implemented in parallel with a radical reform of the administration and that starting in September, re-systemising the entire administration, including the government, will become possible.

“We must ensure that the citizen's response is heard to the highest level. A special structure to ensure this co-governance will be located at each institution. The state is of every citizen, and when he asks for a service from the state he should offer it to him wherever he is and whatever social level he is, said Rama.
