German police have tried to take over violence on the streets of Hamburg, while world leaders were at dinner together and participated in a concert of serious music, after yesterday, the first day of the G20 group summit.
Smoke was seen in the air above the city, created by fires caused by a small group of radicals, which were among nearly 100,000 protesters against globalisation.
They triggered dozens of automobiles and barricades, until German Chancellor Angela Merkel, American President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and other leaders heard the sounds of the 9th symphony of composer Beethoven.
After a day of fires, looting, and other destructions of extreme left protesters, armed police commandos, with the use of armoured cars, water cannons, and tear gas, apparently most of the time successfully cleared the streets of downtown Hamburg during today.
However, some 200 thousand police officers on the streets of this city have suffered minor injuries, while police have arrested 19 people and dozens more have been detained after two days of clashes in Hamburg. Ten protesters are also hurt.
Chancellor Merkel has estimated that violence is unacceptable “”. Day two of the G20 Group summit continues today.
