The palace for which Vlora Mayor will hold four years in prison

In Albania, the Vlora Court sentenced today to four years in prison the former mayor of the city, Rescue Djika in a judicial process launched for building a palace without permission, the Prosecutor's Court had asked for 9 years in prison for Gjika, which it accused of “duty usage”, “Absalification of documents “, ” and <6> actions that prevent the discovery of [...]
The prosecution had demanded a nine-year prison sentence for Gjika, which he accused of “using task”, “falsification of documents”, “without permission” and “actions that prevent truth detection”. But the Court considered him guilty only of two of the charges, the one for “falsification of documents”, and “actions barring the discovery of truth”, while the sentence was converted to 2 years with the test service.
The investigation into former Mayor Salvation Gjika began in 2013, while two years later he was arrested to be investigated in a free state later. He was charged that, along with former urbanist chief Dorian Sulaj, he had forged the Council of Territorial documents for permission to build the palace on the part of a private company.
