Lunacek: Priority of new phase of dialogue, implementation of reached agreements

The European Parliament's deputy chairman and rapporteur for Kosovo, Ulrike Lunacek, says the priority of the new phase of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina should be implementation of the agreements reached in order to normalise fully relations. “We still have to wait to see what the results will be. “We still have to wait to see what the results of the updated dialogue will be. The priorities should be full implementation, as both sides have already agreed to agreements such as energy and freedom of movement. Each side must work itself in implementing these agreements, not hosting the other side. The EU must continue to insist on implementing agreements to achieve the full normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia“, Lucac has said, on the occasion of the recent meeting of the president of Serbia and Kosovo in Brussels and the announcement of the start of a new phase in the EU-launched dialogue.
Lunacek says Brussels' dialogue will continue to be difficult because of the lack of mutual confidence, as well as due to the current lack of implementation of agreed agreements, writes Gazetatro.
“The EU should monitor the implementation of agreements reached in dialogue and report regularly to all interested parties, including the European Parliament”, Urike Lucac said.
Lunacek as the European Parliament Rapporteur for Kosovo called on the new government in Pristina, that whatever coalition makes the government, there be constructive approaches and is fully engaged in dialogue.
