The calendar may be another tool that can help you appreciate the danger of your heart: The season and weekday may affect your chances of having heart attacks, say new studies from Sweden.
Researchers analyzed data on 156,000 hospital admissions suffering from heart attacks over seven years. They discovered some surprising differences in heart attack. When you look at the days of the week, the biggest heart attacks occurred Monday and the day it happened at least on Saturday. In fact, the risk of heart attack was 11% higher Monday than in other days of the week.
Young people, working people seemed more sensitive to Monday, and therefore the risk of heart attack was 20% higher on the first day of the week.
