MPJs paid off 14,000 euros for an apartment which diplomatic mission officials in Switzerland refused to use.
The Kosovo Embassy in Bern, Switzerland, has paid home rent for 10 months in a row worth 14 thousand of 166 euros without anyone standing there, as diplomatic mission officials had refused to accommodate themselves at this residence.
The National Auditing Office has published the report for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where it found that the Kosovo Embassy in Switzerland has paid the rent from November 2015 to September 2016 without being exploited by anyone.
The “Ambada in Bern had paid rent expenses until September 2016, worth 14,166$3 for the residence, which had been at the use of the consul, who had served until November 30th 2015”, says the audience report.
According to MPJ officials, the rent payment was made for its preservation for new appointees.
“However, none of the new diplomats had agreed to access this residence”, the audience report said.
And the audience has described this as misusing public money.
“The payment of rent expenditures without being used by Kosovo Diplomatic Missions (MDK) is misuse of public money, as well as impacting the increase of expenditures without taking advantage of their”, the report says.
