US Prosecutor General Jeff Sessions has said today that he will continue to hold this post, a day after President Donald Trump rebuked him for having ruled himself out from the investigation into Russian involvement in the US presidential elections 2016.
Sessions has said today that he will remain in this position for as long as such a thing is appropriate.
Ex-senator from Alabama, Sessionis was one of Trump's earliest supporters and became the general prosecutor in February of this year.
After a month, he resigned from the investigation led by the Department of Justice after learning that he had not indicated there were meetings with the Russian ambassador to the US.
Yesterday, Trump told the New York Times that he would never have chosen the Attorney General Session if he knew he would have expelled himself from the case.
Trump called it very unfair to him.
