Hyka was shot with two bullets in his head, but his condition is towards improvement after being transported to the hospital where he received treatment. At the moment of the assassination, the businessman was in the company of his driver, consuming his morning coffee.
Sources said he was a close man of Hyka, who, besides the driver, was more of a bodyguard. Police have received the statements of this person, considered a key witness to the event, not only because he was present at the moment, but also because he is a trusted Tofik Hyka man.
I accompanied him wherever he came to Albania. I'm one of his most trusted men, but I've never been told about problems or any serious danger that could come from someone”, the Hyka driver reported to the police. As for the assassination's moment, he has declared that everything has happened very quickly, for seconds, and therefore has failed to fix anything of the authors.
