Sixty employees have delivered a medical certificate in recent days, near public transportation to Basel. They denounced an unstable situation for their work.
On July 15th, the readers of the Basil Canton had reported via the newspaper “20 Minuten” for public transport failure. The reason: 60 BVB employees were “off”, after they handed in a medical certificate. The remaining staff was unable to provide effective service. The company in question had announced austerity proportions, as well as a wave of financial cuts expected until October. Hence, these numberless shortages may be a form of protest.
Poor Work Conditions!
The working conditions are very severe, indeed, denouncing company workers. My colegs are sick all the time”, says a driver. Our “Life is unhealthy. We should accept dinner at 10:00, even at midnight. For a bus driver this can't be sustainable and healthy”.
